From 20 to 22 September, 2015 was held in Tirrenia (Pi) Italy the 11th edition of the Italian Suscon, seminar on rituals of body suspension also this year the participants were numerous, about 75 people, coming from different parts of the world such as Italy, Norway, USA, Israel and Germany.
This year, we had as guest a pioneer of body suspension Fakir Musafar and Dr. Franco palma.
Fakir Musafar father of body suspensions and body modifications from USA and for the first time in Italy, has submitted the personal journey that has led him to experiment and develop ancient ritual practices anthropological and entice them in contemporary culture.
Dr. palma, a neurologist, instead has the treaty in his lecture “the pain” by explaining the meaning, its benefits and how our brain reacts to its stimulus.
During the event were carried out 35 suspensions and unlike past editions this year and was given an impression more ritual view of the participation of Fakir. It was organized a ritual, “moon dance”, on the beach which was attended by 40 people. Each participant after being insert two hooks in the cheast and after a spiritual meditation staff participated, first and foremost, to a collective prayer, then in a row, all are direct on the beach at sunset where each participant was hooked to a single central ring. Each could thus’, feel physically linked to all the participants. The atmosphere was magic and spiritual and the pulling of the group and it lasted about one hour with a felt background music of 12 percussionists.
The body suspensions each year were held indoor outdoor under trees and finally also directly into the sea. Fortunately, despite the fact that it was the penultimate weekend of September, the time it was nice and sunny with a temperature during the summer months.
The crew was composed of 29 people from different teams: APTPI suspension team (Italy), Wings of Desire (Norway), Superfly ( Germany) and Release Flesh Suspension team (USA).
All this is done in complete harmony between the participants and also on this occasion it was interact both at the technical level that artistic to raise the knowledge of these procedures safely and experimenting with new possibilities of suspension.
