This year’s Italian Suscon event: an endless emotion.
The latest edition certainly left an impact on many. Three days spent in nature collaborating from the first to the last step: from setting up the suspensions to preparation, from serving meals to general cleaning, before returning once again to our lives. Some, reading these words, might think, “What a stress, why would you do that?”
However, it is precisely in these situations that we all become essential and are on the same level. In a self-managed environment, everyone is indispensable, and this breaks down any type of barrier, allowing everyone to interact without distinctions or preconceptions.
Every evening, after the suspensions, videos from previous editions of the event were shown: a moment of reflection on the project, both for those who entrusted themselves to our hands and for those who have been involved in organizing it for twenty years! A moment of gathering and connection.
Additionally, we witnessed the presentation of the book “Body Art,” still perfectly on theme and enriching the minds of those who might not have been aware of the valuable information. Being aware of how this counterculture originates is certainly not to be underestimated.
On the last day, to properly say our goodbyes, an installation was prepared in which all members of the Italian Suscon Suspension Team participated. The guest was Elisa, who was lifted by all of us through 14 hooks inserted into her body, connected to us 14 by a single point on her chest: a significant moment of connection that concluded this year’s edition in the right way. This was the first time, in twenty years, that something involving all team members at once came to fruition!
Thank you to all the participants who made this well-deserved break from everyday life possible and for creating a special memory.
