APTPI @ APP CONFERENCE JUNE 5-10 2011

APTPI foto-vegas-2011 The 16th annual APP meeting just ended. As usual, an APTPI delegation was there to promote its activities and to attend the classes.

The new location, the Bally's Hotel and Casino, for sure offered high quality services, but it seemed to be a bit unorganized, and we missed the more intimate feeling of the old good Tropicana.

The attendees, among them the Europeans are more and more numerous every year, followed the lessons and the roundtables with great attention.

The workshops have been a very appreciated novelty: to directly watch piercers at work is very important to learn.

In the expo area there were mainly the most important jewellery companies and manufacturers of aftercare products for piercing.

Many people got their attention caught by APTPI promotional stand: we were able to collect a lot of  pre registrations to our next International Meeting in march 2012 and our Italian Suscon on next September.

A stand was dedicated to the presentation of Jim Ward's book “Running the Gauntlet” a biography of the very first studio piercing in the world.
Everyone was happy to celebrate Jim's seventieth birthday during the traditional social party.

APTPI foto-vegas-2011 We renew our best wishes and thanks to a man who gives us the chance to love our job and who gave a great impulse to the body piercing industry all over the world. Thank you Jim!

As usual the very important meeting between the different associations has happened.

As the others, APTPI could report about the results of its work and give its point of view about the national panorama.

Brian Skellie, APP member responsible for the relationships with the other associations around the world,  made the very good suggestion: to give life to the Body Art Symposium International Collaboration: a forum on Facebook opened to news, ideas, considerations; a window on the real time life of our job in the world.

Join in and stay tuned!
